Andy Puzder, President Trump’s nominee for secretary of labor, is expected to withdraw his name from consideration, NBC News, Fox News and CNN reported Wednesday afternoon.Puzder’s reported withdrawal comes a day after his Senate confirmation hearing was set to begin.Earlier Wednesday, multiple reports surfaced that GOP officials had advised the White House that Puzder — chief executive of CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. fast-food chains — lacked the votes needed for confirmation.
I didn't think he was a great fit for Labor anyway. He was a CEO of fast food restaurants and not one of the top ones by sales. He had that "not paying taxes for an undocumented worker" problem that seems to dog to very rich when they try to get into public service. I would think one of those anti-NAFTA union guys would be an interesting pick and more align with what Trump is trying to do.
