Soda is a Bomb in Nations Diet

Now this is some interesting findings on drinking regular soda and how it is contributing to the obesity epidemic.
The sugar in soda pop not only provides a massive dose of calories, but
triggers a vicious appetite cycle, said Ludwig, who wrote "Ending the Food
Fight," about healthy eating for children.

"It's rapidly absorbed, which raises blood sugar and in effect
causes the body to panic." The body releases insulin to break down the sugar,
"but the body overcompensates, and blood sugar drops below the fasting level,"
lower than it was in the first place.

So if you eat a big burger and wash it down with a non-Diet soda you end up hungrier then if you just ate the burger by itself. Now that is really interesting findings because I notice that if I drink a sweet drink I need something salty to compensate so I eat chips. I wonder if the sweetness of the drink also affects what you what you eat with it as well? Could be an interesting thing to study as well.
