Westboro Baptist Scumbags Win Supreme Court Ruling

Well the First Amendment protects the very worst of us so it can protect everyone.

The church's strategy is to stage protests at high visibility funerals, drawing media attention and gaining a platform for their views. The family of slain Marine Matthew Snyder sued church members for intentionally inflicting emotional distress after they picketed at his funeral. As appalling as most Americans would find these protests, the Supreme Court in an 8-1 decision found that the picketers could not be successfully sued because the protests were protected by the First Amendment.

The problem though is that you cannot escape from their free speech when you are in a public place. I think someone needs to create a counter protest group that travels around with these scumbags and holds up huge signs that block their signs. This group can counter chant so that these servicemen can have funerals in peace. Maybe they can blast some "God Bless America" and other patriotic songs to drown them out.  I'm sure some veterans group would be more than happy to form a block against these scummy bastards.
