Send in the CIA: Obama Allows Covert Action in Libya

Well, I'm not sure why we have to advertise this information but it seems that we might get some CIA assets in place among the rebels after all.

Obama signed the order, known as a presidential "finding", within the last two or three weeks, according to government sources familiar with the matter.

Such findings are a principal form of presidential directive used to authorize secret operations by the Central Intelligence Agency. This is a necessary legal step before such action can take place but does not mean that it will.

I guess this is how we are going to funnel some state-of-the-art weapons into the rebels. The more I look at Libya the more it looks like this is Obama's proxy war. I kind of Afghanistan but with rebels instead of Northern Alliance members. The sad thing is that the Libyan rebels are disorganized amateurs while the Northern Alliance were bad-assed tribesmen that fought the Soviets for decades. Well in any case waiting until the last minute like this will probably mean a partitioned Libya.
