Copenhagen Conference Descends into Chaos

I knew it would happen eventually.

Police fired tear gas, brandished batons and detained more than 200 protesters who tried to push through the security cordon around the Bella Center, as negotiations inside bogged down, for the second time this week, over differences between China and the West over emissions, funding issues and transparency.

Why should the Red Chinese slow their growth for any reason? They would not mind if other economies knee-capped themselves by 1 -2 % GDP because it put them that much ahead. Mark my words: A Cap-and-Trade Bill imposed on us by the UN will send us into a double dip recession. I don't think Americans can afford a massive tax whenever they turn on a light switch. Especially if this tax mostly goes to buying mansions for dictators in Third World countries.
