Great NRO take on the Amnesty Gulaggate

This is a great rundown on the comments that Amnesty made. It also lets them know how they need to change to address the new groups coming onto the stage. They are stuck in a nation vs. nation mentality and need to take these pan-national rights violators into account.

Terrorism is still viewed by them as some sort of crime, similar to murder, that a criminal court can rule on. They don't view terrorism as 21st century warfare. The time of the Axis Powers vs. the Allied Powers or the Soviet Bloc Nations vs. NATO are dead and buried.

They still think that the American Empire is holding these people without trial like they committed manslaughter or something. These are enemy combatants that were picked up in a war zone. Some would like nothing better then to pick up a bomb belt and go blow up some "evil" Zionist/American Imperialists/Buddists/Hindus/non-Jihaddi Muslim.

About the only thing we could do that would satisfy these people is to turn them over to the UN for some kind of trial. The UN would just circulate them back into the system and they will be firing an AK-47 at a US troop before the end of the year.
