Alito is In.

It was the most partisan vote in modern history or whatever they are saying about it.

Alito's swearing-in came only hours after the Senate voted 58-42 to confirm Alito — a former federal appellate judge, U.S. attorney, and conservative lawyer for the Reagan administration from New Jersey — as the replacement for retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor who has been a moderate swing vote on the court.

Now lets see what the court does on these upcoming abortion rights issues. They have skewed a bit to the right but you never know what you are going to get when it comes to this stuff. I have a feeling that Alito will be voting in such a way that he won't legislate from the bench. He seems like a pretty even tempered guy and not some fiery anti-abortion type. This looks like one of those its a bleak day for liberals kind of picture though:
