US Softens Stance on Iran

Hmm it looks like we are giving some quarter on the negotiations with Iran about their nukes.

In Washington, the U.S. official said there was agreement with Germany, France and Britain over the package of "carrots and sticks" and that Russia and China -- in the past reluctant to support punitive measures -- also appeared to be on board.

"We have substantial agreement with the Russians and the Chinese. We are agreed certainly on the need for moving forward in the (U.N.) Security Council if Iran doesn't respond to the offer," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Now the ball is back in Iran's court. Lets see what they do with it. If I were Iran I would agree to have the UN monitor the enrichment but insist that it must be done in Iran. In other words get the enrichment technology online using Russian help. Then when they are ready to build the bomb, kick out the inspectors and break the seals. Rely on UN paralysis and a wishy-washy "never use force" Dem to be in the White House to buy them enough time to get some bombs built. Once they have the nuke, Iran will be able to able to dictate terms.
