MTV in the Game Business in a Big Way

It seems that Rock Band is going to be MTVs first game and they are going all out to promote the thing.

The "tour bus" stage rig will visit 30 cities between mid-September and
early November, stopping at several college campuses, fairs and even marathon
finish lines. At each event, MTV trains cameras on the stage, documenting the
performances of makeshift bands to see which might qualify for a competition
placing two groups in a battle-of-the-bands showdown on the network's Total
Request Live. The winning band will perform as the opening act at a launch
concert for the game.

I hope MTV does more actual music types of things and less Laguna Beach and other semi-Real World style snorefests. I guess they forgot what the M in their name stands for.
