End of an Era: Jon Stewart Out at Daily Show

Well now the derby for his replacement begins.

The AV Club is reporting that Stewart told the audience at today's taping that he's stepping down from the Comedy Central news show he's hosted since 1999. No word yet on when he'll be leaving, or who might replace him. (Perhaps Stewart himself will deliver the news on tonight's broadcast.)

I think they need a woman to replace him to change things up. My vote is for Amy Poehler or Olivia Munn. I would tune in to watch them day to day. They wouldn't be as biting as Stewart but they would be interesting change of pace. It would also be interesting to have a number of different guest hosts for several months. Have a rotating anchor to get a taste for different people on the show.
