I guess holding the world economy hostage every few months is no longer a tactic of the GOP.
House Speaker John Boehner said he will now seek to pass a clean debt
ceiling hike with help from most Democrats in the chamber, admitting it
was "disappointing" that the party leadership did not have the votes to
pass the measure with an attached provision reworking military pension
benefits.
I hope this is the start of the understanding that Congress needs to work together in order to get anything done. They can't continually govern by brinksmanship and threats. Now Boehner work on tax reform and cut capital gains taxes for people making under $250k a year.
